He is Still Writing Your Story

Be still, and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10.

Don’t be so busy listening to the noise around you that you miss His voice writing your story.

Today, if you are going through a rough time, perhaps you’re in a season of hardships, going through one trial after the other, or perhaps you had something you thought would happen, but it fell through. Don’t lose heart. Continue to trust God.

We are His dear children, and when we need Him the most, He always takes care of us. He treats us just like His beloved children. He will grab us by the hand, wipe away every tear, kiss our cheeks, and wipe the dust from our shoulders.

He tends to our pain. He uses the balm of Gilead to bring healing. And all day long, He whispers poems about our life to us.

Do not be so busy and focused on all of your problems and the noise around you that you miss His still, small voice—whispering poems to you and writing the story of your life.

In Ephesians 2:10, it says:

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works.”

The Greek word used here for “workmanship” is poiēma. This is where we get our English word poem or masterpiece.

This means that we are a work of art. You are handcrafted by God with a unique purpose.

Jeremiah 1:5 says:

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

God wrote a special plan for you and your life before you were born.

Remember, there is a poem being written over your life.

God is gentle and kind. He usually speaks to us in a still, small voice, and sometimes in a whisper. Sometimes, He whispers little pieces of the poem into our spirit before we ever see them manifested in our lives.

A promise.

A dream.

A Scripture.

A vision.

A desire that keeps returning.

A quiet knowing that says, “There is more.”

Don’t dismiss those moments simply because they are quiet and only a whisper.

Sometimes, God gives us just one line of the poem at a time.

You may not understand what He is writing right now. You may be standing in the middle of a chapter that feels painful, confusing, or unfinished. But that doesn’t mean the story is over.

Keep trusting the Author.

He Is Still Writing Your Story

In the picture above, I was living in that apartment complex during one of the most challenging times in my life.

As I was walking home one day, I saw a rainbow over the whole apartment complex. In that moment, I just knew that God was going to take care of me.

And He sure has.

He always does.

That rainbow was a reminder to me that even when I couldn’t see how things were going to work out, God was still there. He was still writing. He was still speaking. He was still taking care of His child.

So, if you are in a difficult season right now, stay encouraged.

Don’t let the noise around you drown out His voice.

Get quiet.

Listen closely.

There may be a whisper coming from heaven.
